Overview
The Vibration Guys are currently hiring for multiple onsite staffed Vibration Analysts (ISO Cat I-III certified) positions across Texas. The Vibration Analysts will work directly with their customers in the performance of their primary job responsibilities. As an ISO Certified Category II, this position is expected to have a knowledge of rotating equipment; characteristics and causes of machinery vibration; be capable of data collection and periodic monitoring; and be able to perform basic fault diagnosis and condition evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Vibration data collection and analysis
- Timely reporting of vibration analysis findings and recommendations to customers' equipment owners
- Provide troubleshooting support
- Solve equipment problems by evaluating vibration patterns, incorporating other process information such as pressures, temperatures, flows, sound, etc.
- Seek the best technical solution by interfacing with other technical resources
- Provide support in maintaining the vibration databases
- Work with plant personnel to support their development of equipment maintenance strategies related to vibration analysis monitoring
- Provide Advanced Vibration Analysis working with internal Rotating Equipment and Vibration SME’s

- Single plane balancing
- Repair shop acceptance testing (Gearboxes & Motors)
- Provide call out coverage
- Assist with failure analysis of rotating equipment to determine root causes of failure and help determine solutions to prevent recurrence
- Provide oversight and mentoring to less experienced Vibration Technicians
Qualifications
Required
-
Minimum of a High School Diploma OR GED equivalent
-
2 or more years vibration discipline experience in solving machine problems using vibration analysis
-
ISO Category II Certification from an Accredited Certification Provider (Vibration Institute, Mobius, Technical Associates, etc.)
-
Experience with Emerson/CSI Hardware and Software (AMS 2140, AMS Machinery Manager)
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working around rotating equipment

Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends

Ability to travel overnight as required

Legally authorized to work in the United States

Cat I Vibration Analyst: at least 1 year of vibration data collection and rudimentary analysis

Cat II Vibration Analyst: 2 or more years vibration discipline experience in solving machine problems using vibration analysis.

Cat III Vibraton Analyst: 5 or more years vibration discipline experience in solving machine problems using vibration analysis.

Experience using hand tools

Experience with other manufacturers CBM Hardware and Software such as Bently Nevada and SKF

Experience with online monitoring systems such as Bently Nevada, CSI 6500, BK VIBRO, SKF

Experience in other CBM technologies: laser alignment, thermography, NDT, lubricant analysis, and other technical/mechanical experience
-
5 or more years vibration discipline experience in solving machine problems using vibration analysis.
