Vibration Analysis Overview (VAO)Wednesday March 18th, 2026

An Informational Vibration Analysis Overview for Non-Practitioners” has been provided for individuals that require some understanding of vibration analysis as it relates to their daily work lives. This will assist management, sales, engineering and purchasing in their communication with vibration analysts regarding machine and plant reliability. It will add everyday practical knowledge to their skill sets and improve interaction with vibration teams; on their plant site, at customer plant sites or remotely through electronic based communication. All registered attendees will receive a course training manual and electronic certificate of course completion.

The VAO training is a one-day classroom course beginning at 8:00 A.M. and concluding at 5:00 P.M. 

VAO Course Content Includes Training and Workshop Topics:

  1. Vibration; Harmonic, Periodic, Random, Pulsating and Impulsive
  2. Measures & Units; Acceleration, Velocity, Displacement, Peak - Peak, Peak and RMS
  3. Sensors; Accelerometer, Velocity Sensor, Proximity Probe and Triggers
  4. Data Displays; Spectrum (FFT), Time Waveform, A/D Conversion, Windows and Anti-Alias Filters
  5. Basic Fault Analysis; Unbalance, Misalignment, Looseness, Gear Mesh, Blade & Vane Pass, Rolling Element Bearing, Electric Motors, Beats, Impact Testing and Resonance
  6. Condition Monitoring; Vibration Data Collectors, Condition Monitoring Systems, Route Based Measurements, Interval of Data Collection, Screening and Trending,
  7. Vibration Severity; Machine Vibration and Shaft Vibration
