TITLE: Piping Vibration and the New Part 15 of API 579

SPEAKERS::Michael Bifano and Nathan Libertowski

Dr. Bifano is the Team Leader of the Rotating Equipment, Vibration, & Dynamics Team and serves as the E2G Technical Authority on vibration measurements, diagnostics, and piping and structural vibration fatigue assessments. He has been involved in many consulting projects involving piping vibration measurements, dynamic stress analysis, and vibration mitigation by piping support design. Also, he is one of the lead authors of the upcoming API 579 Part 15 methodologies on the assessment of Piping Vibration. Lastly, he is ISO CAT.IV Vibration analyst certified

Mr. Libertowski is an Engineer with the Rotating Equipment, Vibrations, & Dynamics (REVD) Team at E2G | The Equity Engineering Group, Inc.  He has been involved in multiple piping vibration and API 579 FFS projects.  In these projects, he collected vibration data in-field and performed FEA, as well as piping flexibility analyses, to pass or fail the piping systems.  If the system failed, creative support designs or vibration mitigation techniques were suggested in order to reduce the vibration.  Mr. Libertowski is also a member of ASME and is Category II vibration analyst certified.

What you will learn from this webinar:

  • overview of different piping vibration mechanisms.
  • overview of the upcoming API 579 Part 15. Details about the Level 1 and Level 2 calculations for piping vibration
  • how to screen for piping vibration
  • Overview of vibration mitigation techniques for piping vibration

No refunds given less than 48 hours prior to the event.  For cancellations less than 48 hours, credit will be given toward another paid Vibration Institute event.

Please note that recording of any webinar given by the Vibration Institute is prohibited.
